Everyone	·         Bring scripts on Tuesday. I will see if you underlined your verbs and circled your consonants – just your own lines. ·         We are having trouble with diction and stressing verbs throughout the cast. ·         We need to work on the slow motion. ·         If you are speaking when there is music, speak loudly. ·         If you play different roles, each one should be different. ·         If you play an animal, you MUST HAVE animal characteristics. ·         Stay focused in the action. Don’t lose your character.
Lights	You are the one who shows the audience where to look.  Sometimes a judge will say, “I didn’t know where to focus.”  It is because the light person did not do their job. Instead of so much lighting done with the lights, try bumping the lights.  Red wash when Gmork and Atreyu are confrontational. There should be a purple wash with the Childlike Empress.
Riley	Watch gestures.  They need to be natural. When you’re talking about your parents, be more emotional. WE HAVE TO SEE YOUR THOUGHTS. When you make a decision, we have to see it. When you are climbing down the ladder, don’t climb all the way down because you are out of the light. Make your decision making bigger. Diction!!! So far, I do like this book.
Drew	Your entrance was late as the buffalo Learn your lines. As a tree, exit USR, just like Reagan is exiting. Lines with Spiders
Ashlynn	Learn your lines.
Atreyu	You are spared.  Speak to the buffalo You have improved. I accept must be huge. Let’s look at the running at the end.
Cairon	You cannot take the horse – Have more authority.  I will allow it.  You are making a concession to allow these people to do this.  This is out of the goodness of your heart.  Learn your lines. Read your lines in the mirror.  Use your arms if it is natural.
Evan	Your personality MUST BE DIFFERENT with each character you play.  Think about the bookseller.  Watch Scrooge on you tube.   – after he has discovered the meaning of Christmas.  In one piece, he is stern, but you can tell he is likeable -  Be stern at the beginning, then, you really know what Bastian is going to do.  You are happy when he leaves the store with the book. At the beginning, start back a bit SL.
MUD and TREE people – Carly	When Bastian says, “I’m going to sneak to history with Mr. Drone.  BEAT Why am I studying old battles when I”m in the battle to save Fantastica.  I’m not leaving.  Not when Atreyu is going into the Swamps of Sadness.  What kind of friend would I be?” the Tree and Mud actors take places their places.  Come in from RIGHT stage. The lights MUST BE on BASTIAN only. You have to be quiet.
Morlas	You must have distinct personalities. For example, one is grouchy and one is happy.  One talks too much and the other is grouchy.  I don’t care, but you have to be bigger.
Spiders	Shake when you hear the gong. Reagan and Payton – watch Sunni’s and Laurel’s moves.  Copy them.  Laurel does a good job hissing at them.  Everyone needs to do this.  We need facial expressions.
Atreyu and Falkor	We need to work on the stupor.  We need more drugged standing, or one falls, the other helps him up.  Cheat to the audience.
Taylor	Let’s leave the dad’s bench out.
Gate people & Engywook	When Bastian says, “No!  Atreyu can’t die.  What about Fantastica?  What about all the pages left in the book?  Someone has to save them.”  You must enter the stage. Engywook, enter with your ladder & telescope and Engywook will stay on the ladder and Urgl will be holding a bottle.
Brooke	Meaner – eat you up.
Engywook	Slower , especially talking about the telescope.
Troll	No smiling
Ashlynn	CAYRON    Memorize the Childlike Empress’s lines.  See if you can wear the dress.
Gmork	Be the hunter. – move to the edge of the platform. Look around more
